I had an old aluminum pressure cooker from Household Institute and could not anywhere get a new seal. I wanted and looked and shopped and waited a long time for a Stainless Steel cooker. This one seemed to get decent reviews for the price and had what I wanted, so I talked Santa into getting it for us for Christmas. I had some problems at first as it did not get up to "pressure" on the pressure setting and did not count down, but instead went to the "Warm" mode. Amazon would not replace a product unless it was damaged in shippping or their fault, but would refund your money. It worked well in the "Rice" mode making perfect rice; and I did not want my money back. I left an Amazon review and a message with Secura at thesecura.com. Almost immediately the seller Lafraise contacted me (THEY Contacted me!), apoligized for any inconvenience and confirmed my shipping address to send a new one. Secura contacted me as well to follow up. Some people just talk and I know what it is like to try to no avail get good customer service. These folks go beyond any complaint. They stand behind their product and make good on it. The new one heats up perfectly to pressure, then counts down minutes from my setting until finished to go to the "Warm" mode. To make perfect rice, put in 1 cup rice, 1 cup of water, some Kosher salt, Itailian seasonings, stir, close the lid, push "Rice" button, then "Start" button - 15 minutes later your rice is perfect. It's not only quiet, it's silent. The Stainless steel bowl is removable, freezable, easily washable, and stirable without fear of a non-stick coating or aluminum leaching into your food.
